Physio fees and health fund claims

You see the fee before you book, and with most private health funds you pay only the gap on the day. No referral is needed to see a physio unless you are claiming through Medicare, a work injury or a motor vehicle claim.

Ways to pay and claim

Health funds, Medicare, NDIS and claims

General information to help you plan. Your fund, GP or plan manager confirms what applies to you.

Private health insurance

If your extras cover includes physiotherapy, bring your health fund card. We claim your rebate through the on-the-spot claiming terminal at reception and you pay the gap by card. Annual limits and waiting periods are set by your fund.

Medicare and GP care plans

If you have a chronic condition, your GP may write a care plan and a referral to a physio. Medicare then pays a rebate for a limited number of allied health visits each calendar year. Your GP decides whether you are eligible; bring the referral to your first visit.

NDIS participants

We see self-managed and plan-managed NDIS participants for physiotherapy that relates to their plan goals. Bring your plan details and your plan manager’s contact, and we invoice in the format they need.

Work injury and road accident claims

If you were injured at work or in a motor vehicle accident, tell us when you book and bring your claim number. We confirm approval with the insurer before treatment, so you know whether you pay anything.

Questions about fees

Do I need a referral?

No, you can book directly. A GP referral is only needed for Medicare care plan visits, and some insurers ask for one on work injury or road accident claims.

What is your cancellation policy?

Please give 24 hours’ notice so someone on the waiting list can take the time. Late cancellations may be charged a fee; a real clinic states the amount here.

Do you bulk bill?

This clinic does not bulk bill. With a GP care plan referral you pay the fee and Medicare refunds its rebate to you, which can often be processed on the same day.

How do I pay?

By debit or credit card at the end of each visit, after any health fund rebate. Pilates class packs are paid in advance.
