Run by physiotherapists

Clinical Pilates in Adelaide, in classes of four

Clinical Pilates uses springs, straps and a moving carriage to build strength and control in a way you can scale to the day. Every class is run by a physio, and every program starts with an assessment of you.

CLASS SIZE Max 4 people
How it works

Three steps into class

You never walk into a class cold. Your physio knows your history and your goals before the first spring is clipped on.

1. Assessment, 45 min

We look at your injury or goal, test strength and control, and decide on starting exercises.

2. One-on-one sessions

Usually two or three, to learn the equipment and the exercises in your program safely.

3. Small classes

Join a class of up to four. Everyone works on their own program, with a physio correcting form.

Who it helps

Good for rehab, and for staying well

People join Clinical Pilates for many reasons. The common thread is wanting exercise that is supervised closely and adjusted to their body.

  • Ongoing or recurring low back and neck pain
  • Rehab after knee, hip or shoulder surgery, once cleared by the surgeon
  • Pregnancy and the months after birth, including pelvic floor-aware exercise
  • Older adults building strength and balance
  • Runners and athletes working on control between seasons

Clinical Pilates questions

Do I need to have done Pilates before?

No. Most people start with no Pilates experience. The assessment and one-on-one sessions teach you the equipment.

Is it the same as a gym Pilates class?

Classes are much smaller and run by physiotherapists, and each person follows a program written for their injury or goal rather than one routine for the whole room.

What should I wear?

Comfortable clothes you can move in, and grip socks or bare feet. We have a few pairs of grip socks if you forget.
